Campaign Story

Hello, my name is Lupie. I am an American Air Force Veteran and a very prideful person. It is taking a lot of me to ask for help, but it means the world to me. This endeavor is worth swallowing my pride for. I am a domestic violence survivor, and I had to start my life over again from nothing, the bottom of the barrel. I married young, at 19yrs old. I was married for nearly 15 years when I was attacked by my now ex-husband. When he was released from prison, he walked away from our children and never looked back. I was left with 5 small children, ages ranged from 12yr-3yrs old. To support my family, I put myself through college and got my associate degree in Medical Assisting. I  worked 2 fulltime jobs, medical assisting during the day and working in fast food at night. I did all of this without child support, without the weekend breaks of co-parent visitations, without community assistance, and without the luxuries of grandparents to help (as my parents died the same month my youngest was born). With ONLY determination, faith and the love of our small family alone, we made it, together and strong and against all odds. I was okay with being alone and being a single parent.

After about four years, I met a wonderful man, a fellow veteran. He showed me understanding, brought safety and peace into our lives, and gave my children and I a gentleness and a love that we never knew existed. We took every day one day at a time, and we are now going on nine years. He and I are determined to have a future together. However, he doesn’t have any children of his own, and I want nothing more than to share that joy with him. I was grieving for both my parents when my youngest was born, and I was not able to truly appreciate and savor what was to be a last opportunity raising a child. My children from my first marriage love my partner and are completely supportive of us adding to our family. Unfortunately, our age is now affecting our fertility. We would like to adopt. We would like to give, not just a home, but love and support and values to a child, or even children, who need us as much as we need them.
Most of my children are out of the house or soon will be. My three sons are now in their 20’s and serving in the U.S. armed forces, two U.S. Marines and one U.S. Sailor, and my teenage daughters are both smart, strong, beautiful and preparing for their futures as well, when they are of age. We have the space in our lives and our hearts for more children.

I ask for help in this fresh start at life in motherhood, now mature. I am seeking any assistance to give a loving home and beautiful future to our baby or babies. Any help will be appreciated. I am a firm believer of Karma. Give good and good will be returned TRIPLE fold. Thank you.
